Hi all,
I want to welcome everyone to a new blog, politics from the middle, (politicsfromthemiddle.com)
This is a totally new and exciting venture for me. The intent of the blog is to have a conversation with all of you about your concerns. Too often, we hear in the media about the thoughts and ideas from both the left and the right side of the political spectrum and far too little from the standpoint of the moderate voters who make up the largest voting bloc.
This blog will be a place where we can talk about not just the problems that we face as citizens each day but to talk about potential solutions for the serious problems that not only Americans face but for those who live in other countries as well.
The world is a much smaller place than it used to be thanks to technology and the use of the internet.
We as citizens of the world have more in common than one would think. Our elected leaders, irrespective of where we live are failing to deal with the problems of the day. Witness the vast demonstrations that have been going on in the last few years; they demonstrate the frustration that many people feel about their government’s inability to satisfy the needs of the people.
In the United States, polling has indicated that Congress’s approval ratings are at their lowest in history. There is a reason for that, and that is because people are tired of partisan and ideologically based politics that have nothing to do with pragmatic solutions that would lead to the betterment of the lives of the people that those who have been elected have failed to serve and represent.
So feel free to join in on what will be an opportunity to talk and to listen to one another. We are just getting started today, the day that we honor our fathers.
On this site we will have suggested solutions to specific problems. There is no such thing as a bad idea so let us pitch in, in our attempt to have a sense of a greater participatory democracy. It is not too difficult to recognize what a problem is but what is hard and frustrating is to find solutions.
As a lifetime political activist I would like to talk about what ways we can better translate our frustrations and disappointments in our system of government into actions that will bring about positive change for we the people.
We will also have other areas of discussion besides politics. Let’s have some fun in these serious times. Thank you!
Thank you for your concerns in today’s politics. It’s always refreshing to have different views, and hear different ideas, and opinions. I am looking forward in seeing the blossom of this blog, so we can all live in a better world. Godspeed!!!
Looking forward to read about different ideas, opinions, and views. hopefully this blog will grow and we will be able to solve problems by getting into the solutions.
Really like the premise of your blog. We have started a similar movement at hearthenation.com. It is a place where everyday citizens can share their views on the news and political issues of the day. We would love to have you write some guest posts on our site. And of course feel free to leave a link back to your personal blog so our readers can follow you here.
Hi Brian,
Thank you for your kind words. I would be quite willing to be a guest writer.
