Today we mourn the passing of Pete Seeger. He has left with us such a wonderful legacy of music and activism.
Through his actions and with the words of his music on our lips he inspired many of us to try to make a difference in a positive way in people’s lives. He was the conscience of America. His music will live on in our memories and in our hearts.
Maybe he and Woodie Guthrie are now getting ready for a song or two, tuning up their guitar and banjo. If you listen you just might be able to hear them singing, “This Land is Your Land.” They’ll sing all the verses.
Like Tom Joad he will always be with us.
