NOTES FROM THE FANTASY UNDERGROUND WEEK 3

Week 2’s games saw an amazing amount of key injuries to major fantasy football players as well as criminal allegations that will affect your lineup for the week. Jamaal Charles and Adrian Peterson were first rounders in all mock drafts. For those who drafted Charles, Kniles Davis, his backup is a must pickup on the waiver wire. Peterson’s criminal problems with be an ongoing problem for the Vikings and for owners of Peterson. Peterson is one of the greatest running backs in NFL history and it is a sad story to say the least. The legal process and due process will determine his future. I don’t think much of his backup, so hopefully whoever drafted Peterson drafted a strong 3rd running back in this year’s draft.

Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson and Jimmy Graham had monster fantasy scoring weeks. In the real world of the NFL, two teams are in a must win situation if they want to keep their playoff and Super Bowl hopes alive. The Saints have now lost 2 games in the last minute and in overtime. And the Colts have had two tough opponents to start the year, so they are facing a must win situation as well.

For those looking for picking winners and it is always dangerous to pick winners of games, the Saints at home against the Vikings without A.P. is a good bet and the Colts on the road against an improving but poor Jacksonville team are two games that you might look at.

For fantasy owners, the Packers on the road against the Lions should be a high scoring affair. Before jumping in and picking up Cousins from the Redskins as a waiver wire addition to your team let’s see how he does on the road against the Eagles. The Eagles are physically battered on defense right now and it is a game following their Monday night affair. So we shall see if Cousins can show his team and the league that he belongs as a starter for the Redskins and whether he is worthy of being a fantasy football quarterback starter as well.

Well good luck and good day to all of you football fanatics!
